The mixture between rock n roll and synthesizers is INKY’s essence. The Brazilian quartet formed in 2010 and has shared the stage with LCD Soundsystem, The Vaccines, Miami Horror, and the Metropole Orkestra from Amsterdam. The band’s debut EP, “Parallels”, was released in 2013 and it was listed in a handful of specialized blogs as one of the best brazilian materials of the year. In 2014, INKY was awarded Best National Videoclip at MTV, Vh1, and MIS with “Baião”, the single from “Parallels”.
INKY released their debut album, “Primal Swag”, recorded live at Red Bull Studios São Paulo in 2014. The album led the band to big festivals throughout the country like Coquetel Molotov, Bananada, Picnik, DoSol and resulted in the first international tour where the band was invited to perform at CMJ in NY.
“One of Brazil’s most exciting new bands, Inky is the São Paulo-based quartet
comprised of Luiza Pereira, Guilherme Silva, Stephan Feitsma, and Victor Bustani. Their synth-heavy, oddly catchy pop marvels couldn’t be further away from your average “indie dance” confection: this is pure rock ‘n’ roll, made with machines and lots of passion.”
